Summer Course in Rome
2 weeks – Full Time in Rome
- To apply the techniques of traditional drawing outdoors drawing.
- To realize prints with engraving and printing techniques
TARGET GROUP: Any student who has an interest in art and artistic expression; people passionate about drawing; people interested in investigating the ancient engraving techniques.
To attend this course, participants must possess a basic ability in drawing; no special skills are required. The tools and materials are included; the drawings, the prints and the engraved plates produced during the course will remain to students.
CREDITS INFO
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of attendance. If the student wishes to convert the class hours attended in Italy into academic credits, he or she will have to arrange a suitable conversion with his or her faculty in the home country, before attending the course in Rome. QIAD can supply the specifications of the module in order to assist in this conversion. As reference, the summer program is equivalent to 3 ECTS.
Attendance: 2 weeks – Full Time (monday-friday)

Overview
CLASSES
Themed walks in Rome, following the traces of myth and history; lessons on outdoor drawing, using the versatile techniques of pencil and watercolor.
- Introduction to chalcography
- Preparation of matrices
- Techniques of drypoint, etching, acquatint
- Lessons in workroom of linocut
TEACHING STAFF
The course is managed by teachers of Quasar Institute for Advanced Design and by artists of the Stamperia Ripa 69 Cultural Association. They are all high-level masters of their craft, with documented expertise.
