Quasar Institute for Advanced Design committed in the fight against Covid19
The attention threshold of our laboratory on the problems of local hospitals is still high.
While Italy is preparing to enter phase two, defined as “coexistence” with the Covid-19 virus, the commitment of the Quasar Institute for Advanced Design laboratory does not stop. In fact, there are several activities that we have told you during the last two months, which have allowed our Academy to act as an ally of the hospitals in our region in the fight against coronavirus.
Our Q-Lab is now engaged in the design and manufacture of new valves that will serve as a support for personal protective equipment, designed specifically for the needs of the Sandro Pertini Hospital in Rome. Currently the technologies used by the laboratory see our FDM 3D printers, a thermoplastic filament, and SLA printers, a photopolymer resin, active.
In addition to the valves, to Sandro Pertini Hospital are being delivered wire pullers for surgical masks, documented to improve the condition of the healthcare staff and relieve pain due to the many hours in which the mask is worn.
